The Physical and Mental well being of today's Ag producers is perhaps more critical today than ever before. As our nation has changed from a primarily Agronomic society and culture to an Industrial and now a Technological one, the toll of those changes has been heavily paid by Farmers. They have had to deal with some of the most difficult circumstances possible for any citizen of the United States. They are under pressure from every side possible. Whether it be financial, psychological or physical stress - they have it all and in abundance. Thankfully there are professionals like Alana Voss to help counter some of those Stressors.
Alana Voss is an Agriculture educator in Juneau and Sauk Counties. She provides resources and education to individuals involved in agriculture and to those wanting to learn more about agriculture in their communities. She has been working with state colleagues and local community members to provide education and resources on farm stress topics. She is currently assisting in advising the Farmer Angel Network in Sauk County as this community group works to provide education and resources to the agriculture community.
Prior to Alana's current role, she earned degrees in Bachelor of Applied Science, Agriculture Business – Marketing and Communications Emphasis, and Animal Science-Dairy Emphasis from UW-Platteville. Following graduation from UW-Platteville, she looked to come back to rural Wisconsin to work with agriculture community and provide support to this important industry. Before coming to Sauk County, she was the interim Agriculture educator in Adams and Juneau Counties. Additionally, she continues to work on her family's cash crop farm where they grow corn and soybeans.
