In part 2 of our interview, Lindsey and I delved (some might say foolishly) into some of the big questions about Art. What is (and ISN'T) Art? What is this thing called talent and how do you know if you have it? Is it about how good or bad people think you are, or is there something that goes beyond that? Who is to say what makes an artist good, better, or great? At the end of the day, what gives any of us the right to say what is good or bad Art? After all, many of today's greatest masterpieces were made by Artists that were thought to be talentless when they were alive. Tough nuts to crack, but we gave it a shot.
Area residents may know Lindsey Giese as the Executive Director of River Arts Inc, a non-profit arts organization in Prairie du Sac, but prior to this role, she was the lead singer for Holland America and Celebrity Cruises.
She holds 2 Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in Music Theatre and Arts Administration and currently tours the Midwest with The Dang-Its in a review show entitled “Sweet Dreams and Honky Tonks.”
She is also a board member for the Sauk Prairie Area Chamber of Commerce and Friends of the Great Sauk State Trail.
